What do the workshops involve?
• This workshop will look at the stress response through a fundamental understanding of our nervous system, our evolutionary heritage and neuromuscular system. We'll be studying the seminal work of Dr Edmund Jacobson who literally introduced the work "relaxation" into the modern lexicon – and whose system of progressive muscle relaxation is still the reference point for relaxation.
• The day will be rich with information and chances to practice – and should prove to be personally as well as professionally enriching and insightful. You'll leave having learnt effective and proven methods of classical relaxation which can be taught easily and quickly to clients.
• CPD certification is available at the end of the sessions or as required by participants.

Students at CPH are encouraged to use the methods outlined in Ian Watson’s book, A Guide to the Methodologies of Homeopathy, which have been further developed. As a consequence, Poppy and Naphia have a unique training in all aspects of practical homeopathy. They are both registered supervisors and work as markers for CPH.

Series of Iridology Workshops

• Held from 7th September 2008 through to 7th June 2009
All Graduates are all welcome to attend as follows:
Location:: CPH Finchley
Times: 10.00 – 16.00 Sundays
Cost: £60 per session
Dates: Sept 7th, Oct 5th, Nov 2nd, Dec 7th Jan 4th, Feb 1st, Mar 1st, Apr 5th, May 3rd, Jun 7th
Workshop Leaders: Will be Marion Joyce, MCPH. & Peter Joyce, M.Ed. MCPH, who both run the busy and successful Kingswood Clinic in Chelmsford, combining Homoeopathy and Iridology.
In response to student queries about iridology courses and workshops we have decided to make ourselves available for informal workshop sessions at The College of Practical Homeopathy for the dates shown above. Our expectation is that these will be primarily practical sessions attended on a ‘drop in’ pay on the day basis which has worked well previously.
Initially we would expect that the first couple of days will cover practical aspects of using iridology with overviews of equipment, expectations and how to make simple eye examination an integral part of day to day practice.
We have often been asked for advice about what is needed to get started and will make a simple kit of torch, lens and map available for purchase at around £15.
Once basic competence has been established various cameras and microscopes will be introduced for appraisal – we do not sell this equipment or recommend it as being necessary for normal clinical practice – and use. All participants’ eyes will be photographed and analysed in subsequent sessions. We also offer a service for participant’s patients, family or friends to come along and have their eyes recorded in this way. ‘Live ‘patient analysis worked well last year where eyes were projected onto a screen and interactive discussion with patients and participants took place.
Workshop content over the year is negotiable and if attending all sessions a standard approaching the requirements for the Guild of Iridologists examination should be possible.
Details of the requirements will be made available to interested participants but we are not offering a diploma course to this standard in these sessions. Extra work would be required and to register with the Guild their own examination would need to be taken.
Our aim is to provide a good functional knowledge of iridology to use in practice and give support to colleagues where it is feasible to do so. Our expectation is that the workshops will allow the development of practical skills and the confidence to use them on an everyday basis.
The content of last year’s workshop sessions is reproduced below as a guide. Most sessions are presented with Powerpoint and have accompanying handouts, additional material e.g. various maps and grids are supplied for use where required.
Day 1. Constitutional types with introduction to basic equipment.
Day 2. The Thyroid and Iris Signs 1
Day 3. The Adrenals and Iris Signs 2
Day 4. The Heart and Iris Signs 3
Day 5. Cameras, microscopes, patient analysis.
Day 6. Follow up group analysis of eye photographs.
Day 7. Sclera signs and analysis
Day 8. The Pancreas and Cystic Fibrosis
Day 9. Open day for patients, photography and analysis.
• CPD certification is available at the end of the sessions or as required by participants.
• A summary CD of sessions will also be available
